A Poem: By Josh Rickett

There used to be a squid at the bottom of the sea.
His name was Henry and he said he was happy.
Henry swam around with his eyes to the ground,
but still said he was great!
When in reality, everybody could see that Henry's
'Great' is as love is to hate.
Well one faithful friend who had come around
from the bend swam up to Henry to speak!
He said "Henry, I'm moving into a new anemone
and I need my fridge moved, but I'm too weak!"
Henry looked up to his friend and was glad to help,
So they went to see the new anemone.
The faithful friend then asked Henry to see if he
really was as happy as he said he was to be.
Henry then reluctantly replied
that he was struggling between truth and lies!
Henry said "How can God be real when all
I see is evil on every foot's heal?
Everybody says 'God is my god
and I serve him well!' but then they live
their lives in a way deserving of hell!
I just can't understand how Jesus would
stand to see everything and still want me.
If He were real, he'd tell me and we wouldn't
live our lives in sin so freely."
"A lot of people live and say that they know God!"
Said Henry's friend
"But live hypocritically and expect to see
everything the way God intended it to be!
God didn't create us to be absent from Him,
but as sinners, we choose to be 'free' from discipline.
This is our flesh that draws us away,
but if we pray for God to guide us,
In God we will stay!
If you ask God to reveal Himself to you,
I know that He is faithful, and He will see you through!"
Henry's faithful friend spoke these words with joy,
Reminding Henry that God is real
and He loves every girl and every boy.
Live faithfully unto God, and He will be faithful unto you,
Love Him with your whole heart and He will see you through.
Henry now knew what was right,
And he would live for it forever and hold onto it tight.
Henry's faithful friend turned out to be faithful in the end.
